All students accepted and committed to an ACADEMIC external summer study away program must submit this Summer Intent to Study Away to inform Trinity College of their summer study away plans and to ensure they are enrolled in international safety and medical insurance.

THIS INCLUDES :

• International summer programs with academic courses/credit
• International summer internships for academic credit
• International summer research for academic credit
• Any other international summer experience baring academic credit
• Any US based study away program who offers summer programming for academic credit. (This does not include taking summer courses at a different US college)

THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE:

• Trinity College administered summer study away programs. Contact the OSA if you are unsure if your program is administered by Trinity College.
• International or Domestic personal summer travel, work, internship, etc. without academic credit
• Summer courses taken directly at an American University/College (Students should work directly with the Registrar's Office for this type of summer course)
• If you are an international student, any summer courses taken directly at a University/College in your home country.

BEFORE SUBMITTING THIS FORM:

• Meet with a study away adviser if you have questions about your summer plans. 
• Meet with your academic adviser and/or a faculty member in your major/minor to discuss the course(s) you will take while away.
• Submit a program application and receive your acceptance to the summer study away program. If you have not been accepted yet wait until you have your official acceptance.

FINANCING STUDY AWAY: Students who study away on external summer programs will pay the program directly. There is limited Summer Financial Aid available through Trinity College. Contact Liz Enos (liz.enos@trincoll.edu) in the Financial Aid Office for more information and to see if you are eligible. 

If your summer study away plans change you must contact the Office of Study Away (studyaway@trincoll.edu) to withdraw this Intent Form.

This form is due by May 10th, 2024.
